The **Alumni Coordinator** role is critical to the development of a strong NYIT Alumni association in Vancouver and provide support to NYIT alumni through-out Canada. This role will provide a long-term strategy to keep our Alumni engaged through various events, marketing, and social media. Approximately 30% of the job will focus on Advancement with the goal to grow the Vancouver Cares Funds.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversees the day to day operations of the Vancouver Alumni Office and supervises student workers
- Establish and support Vancouver Alumni Chapter in coordination with New York Office.
- Works with Development in our New York campus to establish financial goals for the Vancouver Cares Fund which supports students in need.
- Implement strategies aimed at sustaining and increasing the rate of donor acquisition as well as donor retention, through stewardship and engagement programs.
- Coordinate strategic planning and branding for Annual Big Give initiative.
- Develop proactive and strategic engagement initiatives to ensure students and Alumni located within Canada stay connected to NYIT. Events may be scheduled in other major cities within Canada, so some travel may be required.
- Identify alumni for promotion on NYIT website and in NYIT publications.
- Promote NYIT to the Vancouver business community and work closely with career services to promote NYIT graduates and alumni to these companies.
- Work to ensure that the database of alumni information is maintained and up to date. - Coordinate and manage special events such as graduation and other student focused events.
- Establish a marketing and communication plan to keep Alumni engaged. This includes knowing social media platforms and social media scheduling software - Leads planning and organization of alumni events.
- Undertakes related duties as assigned consistent with the responsibilities of this job.
- Assist students in identifying career goals by offering general advisement (In-person and Virtual) and graduation planning - Develop proactive relationships with future alumni to support academic and career success
- Create and share resources for students that promote graduate success, career readiness and job placement, including managing a database of professionals to connect alumni with to discuss career paths and options
- Assist students in preparation for graduation and transitioning smoothly into career success

Qualifications:
**Requirements**:

- BBA, BCom., or other relevant degree or experience.
- Experience working in a similar role or having experience with professional fund raising
- Experience creating budgets and having knowledge of sound procurement policies.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building and networking skills
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft office and various social media platforms.
- Experience with Hootsuite, Raiser’s Edge and Blackbaud NetCommunity would be an asset.
- Creative, outgoing, team player, energetic and able to manage projects within budget and on a deadline.
- Experience managing events would be an asset.

Preference will be given to Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.
