- Greet and check-in patients - verifying & updating patients information into the electronic medical record (EMR) & ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries and requests for appointments in a kind, respectful & professional manner
- Assist with OHIP (health card) verification and & 3rd party billing processes
- consistently check electronic fax to ensure urgent referrals, prescription refills, pathology reports, etc are actioned within the same day
- familiarity with the use Point of Purchase machines for 3rd party charges ie. Monaris, Square
- work closely with RPN to ensure the flow of patients is smooth, including at times bringing patients back to examination rooms, light cleaning of exam rooms after use

- Previous experience working in a medical office setting is preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems - specifically AccuroEMR
- Proficiency in medical terminology
- Strong administrative skills, including data entry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of phone systems and ability to handle high call volumes

As a Medical Office Assistant/Medical Secretary, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to our healthcare team of 2 Physicians. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work well with patients will contribute to the smooth operation of our office. Please note that this is not an entry-level position. Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred and knowledge of AccuroEMR would be a great asset.

We offer competitive compensation. This is a full-time position with regular office hours Monday through Thursday (8am to 4pm ~32-35h/week).
