**What is the opportunity?**
As the National Director, Cleantech, you will create and execute on the strategic vision to advance our cleantech banking practice across Canada. You will bring expert knowledge of the cleantech landscape and collaborate with key partners across the bank to launch new programs and enhance our project execution capabilities on a national scale. You will develop relationships with clients and inspire and engage the relationship teams to drive growth and profitability while delivering a differentiated client experience.
**What will you do?**
- Create and execute new program models that enable revenue streams for various lines of business
- Develop the framework and conduct in-depth financial analysis to evaluate cleantech investment opportunities while mitigating associated risks to protect the company's interests while maximizing opportunities for growth
- Serve as a thought leader and advocate for clean technology within the banking industry, influencing key stakeholders and driving policy changes to support sustainable initiatives
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with industry leaders, government agencies, research institutions, investors and other stakeholders to advance clean technology solutions and drive impactful change
- Actively participate in the cleantech ecosystem to remain at the forefront of market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership
- Lead business development activities and manage a portfolio of strategic client relationships
- Support, mentor and coach regional cleantech champions to understand the market, client approach and deliver on the strategic vision
**What do you need to succeed?**
**Must have**:
- Undergraduate degree with a focus in business, entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, sustainability or related area
- 5+ years of experience in clean technology and innovation with a strong understanding of the cleantech ecosystem and the unique challenges of scaling a cleantech business
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and lead change within a team environment
- Effective communication and storytelling skills to interact across all levels of the organization and external sectors with impact and influence
- Business development experience and strong client relationship management skills
**Nice to have**:
- Financial analysis experience with knowledge of credit products
- Venture tech experience
- Certificate in Carbon Finance
