BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) is hiring for two Temporary Program Coordinator, CISM.
One position will end March 30, 2025, and one will end October 31, 2025.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Program, the Program Coordinator is responsible for coordination of projects, and general program coordination and administration supporting employee mental health and wellbeing through the CISM program at BCEHS.
In this role, you will be actively involved in the planning, development, coordination, and evaluation of events and projects and related to supporting the mental health and well-being of BC EHS staff. You will support team efforts with internal, external, partners to improve the quality and accessibility of mental health services. You will be responsible for coordinating multiple projects of varying size and scope in a complex and changing multidisciplinary environment.
What you'll do
Coordinates the execution of projects, assuring they are done in an efficient manner, that they adhere to project protocols, that they conform to applicable institutional and ethical policies and procedures and privacy legislation, and that they are completed within the required timelines.
Identifies, collects, and analyzes relevant information relating to current projects, and provides input and recommendations to CISM Manager and project/program team for development, implementation, analysis, dissemination of findings, and policy/practice implications.
Assists with the dissemination of information and knowledge related to projects and key programs and initiatives under the identified mandate areas through a variety of vehicles to internal and external stakeholder groups.
What you bring
**Qualifications**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years recent related experience or equivalent work-related experience in a mental health, healthcare, social services, government, or community organization.
Understanding of and practical skills in project coordination/management, research and evaluation.

Participates in the expansion of mental health programs available to clients
Coordinates the execution of projects and prepares reports for executives relating to mental health programs in a timely manner
Coordinates, recruits, and vets a network of clinical counsellors and psychologists for the Critical Incident Stress (CIS) program
Organizes and analyzes statistics for the CIS clinical network
Creates policies and guidelines related to billing and clinical sessions for clients based on client-centered feedback
Utilizes organizational skills to manage changing priorities and unexpected interruptions by adding time buffers into the calendar and workback schedules
Maintains open communication with the team to ensure alignment on priorities and make necessary adjustments
Updates calendars and workback schedules when a priority changes to ensure timely completion of tasks and meeting performance objectives
Engages with clients undergoing emotionally challenging situations by establishing rapport, prioritizing professionalism, empathy, and support
Diffuses conflict by remaining calm, validating clients' experiences, and providing a non-judgmental environment
Creates content for internal/external newsletters to effectively communicate changes to clients and stakeholders
Indigenous Cultural Safety and Diversity
Knowledge of Canadian colonial impacts on Indigenous people in social and health contexts, supported by significant knowledge of Canadian and Indigenous ideologies, including knowledge, and understanding of Indigenous cultural safety, cultural humility, Indigenous-specific racism and anti-racism.
Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Site Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system.
