**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role, you will:

- work with municipal planners and provincial ministries to bring a broad range of geoscience information and expertise to the planning table
- work with Indigenous communities to provide an understanding of the role of geoscience in land use planning
- represent the Ministry's interests in land use planning and promote the use of geoscience information by participating on committees and at public information sessions, and monitoring and commenting on land use policy

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- You must be a registered geoscientist or geoscientist-in-training in good standing with Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) or with another regulated association of geoscientists.

**Technical expertise**:

- demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and experience related to geoscience and mineral exploration principles and practices

**Communication and interpersonal skills**:

- demonstrated communication skills to deliver effective consultations and advice, and to present information
- interpersonal skills that allow you to negotiate through disputes and build solid working relationships
- demonstrated written communication skills to prepare reports, briefing materials, presentations and correspondence with executives and senior management

**Analytical skills**:

- proven reasoning and analytical skills to help develop and implement new regulations, policies, practices, and procedures
- proven research and evaluation skills to research and assess provincial legislation, regulations and policies pertaining to private and Crown lands
- demonstrated ability to identify critical factors in work-related situations and make informed recommendations based on research and analysis
