The Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the hotel’s sales, marketing, and brand awareness efforts across multiple properties and markets. This role involves managing the Marketing Coordinator, collaborating closely with the Revenue Manager, and implementing targeted strategies to meet the hotel’s sales and revenue goals, particularly during peak selling periods.

Key responsibilities include developing and executing the **Annual Sales & Marketing Plan** to maximize the hotel’s unique location, product offerings, and service strengths, ensuring competitive market positioning and growth. This position also serves as a primary contact for clients, facilitating group bookings and coordinating seamless service execution. Additionally, the Sales & Marketing Manager partners with the Revenue Manager to implement effective **Sales & eCommerce strategies**, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and the success of the annual plan.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Leadership**
- Delivers the marketing and sales activities of the Sundial Hotel as per the annual plan & budget.
- Responsible for managing the Marketing Coordinator, through weekly reporting and accountability of their work.
- Promotes teamwork, employee motivation and morale. Resolves conflict effectively.
- Administers performance management as required, including annual performance reviews.
- Works closely with community partners to contribute to the community.

**Guest Services**
- Consistently delivers exceptional guest service using the Sundial’s Guest Service Philosophy: Connect, Assist, Exceed. Leads and supports guest service recovery strategies.
- Works with the Front Office team on sales initiatives and packages to improve sales, conversions rates, and return guest percentages. Participation in site visits and FAMs, as required.
- Manage the overall appearance and reputation of the Sundial Hotel and Carleton Lodge digitally (i.e. Google, TripAdvisor, website, etc) and within the community of Whistler.
- Works with other departments to create and implement lobby and guest activations.

**Enterprising**
- Development of the annual Budget and Marketing Plan, and monitor the ongoing progress/status of the plan.
- Report on all sales and marketing initiatives, which includes data analysis, segmentation, forecasting, optimization and channel management, to ensure monthly budgets are met and market performance is maximized.
- Establish and maintain relationships and partnerships within internal and external stakeholders, such as OTAs, Wholesalers, Tourism Whistler, Local businesses, and event coordinators for the purpose of new business development.
- Oversees all marketing channels, which includes website, booking engine, CRM, social media, Paid advertising, Meta advertising, Partner channels, content creation and Event management. Consistently looking at ways to innovate through emerging media channels.
- Manages the Sundial Hotel Brand through all channels, which includes group sales and wholesalers. Align all communication and advertising positioning. Continuously ensuring onsite brand management throughout the property.

**Sales and Revenue Management**
- Support Revenue Manager with Yield management including direct sales initiatives and third parties.
- Complete all internal reports as required in Revenue Manager’s absent.
- Manages IT issues (Infor HMS, Infor RMS, TravelClick, Squarespace.).
- Stays current with latest technology trends and explore opportunities.

**Administration**
- Attends general hotel meetings and lead marketing meetings.
- Monitors production and sales activity against pre-set goals and quotas of the Sales & Marketing Plan.
- Follows company vision statement, service philosophies, guiding principles, and policies and procedures.
- Ensures a clean and safe working environment with active participation in Health & Safety.

**Job Requirements**:
- Education: Marketing, Communications, Commerce, Business or similar Degree.
