The HR Coordinator provides a key role in the achievement of all regional people related goals. Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, this position is an important part of the regional support team and will require a background **supporting operational business deliverables**.

The HR Coordinator will ensure the common daily requirements of the operations are met and will support the people related needs of the business, both in terms of strategic initiatives and the day-to-day operation.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Support day to day **HR process functions **and ensure a high level customer service is provided to the operation on a consistent basis (onboarding, offboarding, pension, benefits, surveys, training, employment letters, PAFs, etc.)
- Support the termination process, preparing packages and facilitate termination meetings as required
- Coordination of the annual employee engagement survey process including focus groups and action plans
- Administer, coordinate, and monitor short-term / long-term disability absences and liaise with group insurance provider as required
- Advise regional operational staff / team on Human Resources policies and processes
- Support managers and supervisors with guidance, assistance and direction on** employee / labour relations matters**
- Act in a support capacity for any / all legal disputes associated with employment matters (i.e. wrongful termination, ESA, human rights, etc.)
- **Ensure data integrity **with respect to all HR related systems via regular audit / review
- **Conduct workplace investigations,** document, and facilitate corrective outcomes, where necessary
- Support the coordination of regional rewards / recognition programs
- Participate in, and help organize, company social events as required
- Provide administrative support for onboarding/offboarding requirements, business correspondence, monthly billings, etc.
- Other tasks as may be necessary to support business and people related needs

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES**:

- **Preferably 4+ years of experience** working in human resources with direct operational support responsibilities.
- Experience assessing people and business-related issues and developing strategies to resolve solutions
- Experience in the facilities management, facilities maintenance, and service industry is preferred, particularly a unionized environment
- **Experience within a highly matrixed** organization servicing multiple sectors / industries would be considered an significant asset
- A related undergraduate degree or diploma/certificate such as Human Resource Management or Business Administration is considered an asset.
- Solid understanding of employment legislation including applicable Employment Standards Act and the Human Rights Code within Ontario
- Experience working within both a **union and non-union environment** involving labour unions and collective agreements
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Strong ability to work on multiple deliverables at one time while remaining responsive to the business and maintaining communication with relevant stakeholders
- Occasional travel to project facilities within the GTA will be required
