- Reporting to the HR Advisor, HRIS and Employee Services, the Human Resources Support Assistant (HRSA) is assigned responsibilities supporting the entry of leave and related administrative tasks. The HRSA’s supports employee inquiries and maintains compliance with North Island College policies and regulations.**Position Competencies**

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Working as part of the Human Resources department the Human Resources Support Assistant will:
1. Under the guidance of the HR Advisor, HRIS and Employee Services, will assist in triaging the HR Service Desk tickets to the HR team to ensure actions are addressed within specified timeframes based on Human Resources and Payroll deadlines.
2. Responsible for accurate data entries in HRIS and applicable corresponding spreadsheets for leave modules.
3. Ensure appropriate and accurate entries and reconciliations are made in HRIS with applicable spreadsheets, of salary, benefits, status, union information, seniority and increments, etc.
4. Establish effective liaison and coordination with Payroll and other staff as required.
5. Provides accurate, efficient and service-oriented responses to all requests for information from departments, unions, external agencies, applicants and others as appropriate.
6. Participates in various aspects of system-related projects in close collaboration with Supervisor and Payroll staff as applicable.
7. Responsible for maintaining all relevant filing systems within the guidelines of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
8. Provides backfill to the Human Resources Associate as required.
9. Other duties as required by the HR Advisors**Required Education & Experience**
- 1. Business Administration Diploma with courses in Human Resource Management.
2. Minimum two-year administrative experience including payroll and/or human resources within a unionized environment**Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities**
- 1. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize tasks, and efficiently meet deadlines.
2. Intermediate proficiency with MS Office - Word and Excel
3. Experience using a large database system an asset.
4. Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
5. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
6. Ability to adapt to a changing work environment.
7. Ability to positively contribute in a team environment, as well as use initiative and work independently.
8. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
