Covenant House helps youth ignite their potential and reclaim their lives. As Canada’s largest agency serving youth who are homeless, trafficked or at risk, we offer the widest range of services to hundreds of young people every day. More than a place to stay, we provide 24/7 crisis shelter and transitional housing on-site and, in the community, along with comprehensive services including education, counselling, health care, employment assistance, job training and after-care. Since 1982, Covenant House has supported more than 100,000 young people.

**Purpose**:
Under the supervision of the Manager of Integrated Content, this position will provide brand-focused, strategic and integrated social media and website content for our agency that advances our leadership position to lead change that supports and empowers youth to pursue a life of wellness and opportunity.

We are looking for a digital savvy, creative and passionate storyteller with curiosity and enthusiasm, who has strong organizational skills and at least 5 years of recent experience leading social media and website content development. The successful individual can work independently and collaboratively as part of a larger team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop Covenant House Toronto’s annual content strategy with direction from the Integrated Content Manager, and plan and execute the agency’s monthly and weekly social media editorial content calendars for identified channels.
- Lead and execute Covenant House Toronto’s social media content strategy.
- Develop social media content, creative assets (videos, photos, and images) and captioning using industry best practices aligned with the agency’s social media strategy.
- Develop graphics on Canva for social media posts and in-house videos.
- With support and direction from the Manager and Director, assist in the creation and execution of plans for larger social media campaigns. connected to key events, fundraising campaigns, and PR opportunities.
- Recommend and execute boosted posts on social media channels in line with the agency’s social media strategy.
- Actively seek opportunities for engaging and trauma-informed social media content inside the agency aligned with the agency’s social media strategy. This includes working with program staff across the agency to create social media content that communicates the impact of Covenant House Toronto’s work.
- Develop brand-aligned social media posts from conception to approvals aligned with the agency’s social media strategy.
- Manage the execution of the weekly social media content calendars and associated approval processes.
- Lead social community management through active and timely monitoring and engaging with audiences on Covenant House Toronto’s social media channels.
- Proactively share social media questions with appropriate staff to develop responses, and flag potential issues or noteworthy content.
- Track all metrics and KPIs for annual social media plans, campaigns, and events using Meltwater database and provide recommendations.
- Create monthly and quarterly analysis on social media successes and learnings for senior management.
- Track website performance monthly using Google Analytics 4 tool.
- Update internally approved website content using WordPress and make recommendations for areas to highlight aligned with the editorial content calendar.
- Proactively review and monitor website content for data and other annual changes.
- Add and tag select newsletter, stories on corporate site accompanying social media posts.
- Connect with staff regularly to collect website updates and create new content, as required.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks to website, including links, buttons and updates to plugins on a monthly basis.
- Other Duties as assigned.

**Qualifications, Experience**:

- University degree or college diploma in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism.
- Proficiency in photojournalism and the ability to create short videos for social media, photoshop, and WordPress.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in social media, content development.
- Sophisticated understanding of social media platforms and digital trends and best practices.
- Knowledge of SEO writing is an asset.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Thorough research and report-writing skills.
- Knowledge of social media analytics and monitoring tools, including Meltwater or similar tools.
- The ability to multi-task and prioritize competing and time-sensitive priorities and project deadlines.
