**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The **HR and Payroll Administrator** is a full-time permanent role that is responsible for providing support to managers and staff in the provision of payroll, benefit and pension services including data entry, processing, auditing and reconciliation. Assistance will also be provided to the Health and Safety, Labour Relations and Human Resources functions.

**_ Salary range: _**_$48,731.00 to $56,747.00 per annum._

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
- Support the HRIS, Payroll and Benefits Specialist in processing the biweekly payroll and administering the benefit and pension plans.
- Follow current payroll processes and work with the Human Resources Team to continually improve and document these processes.
- Audit timecards for accuracy and compliance with the Collective Agreement and Employment Standards Act, identifying errors or outages.
- Answer payroll related inquiries in a timely manner.
- Administer group benefit and retirements plans including enrolments, changes, and terminations, ensuring compliance with the plan rules and ensure copies of all transactions are retained in employee files.
- Audit employee records relating to benefits, retirement plans and salary increases to ensure all are up to date and in compliance with policy and entitlements.
- Assist the Sr. HR Generalist with the administration of the Health and Safety and Accommodation Programs.
- Co-ordinate Government funded Summer Student Program.
- Coordinate Strides Toronto Student Placement Program.

**THE “MUST HAVES”**

The following education, professional memberships and knowledge are a requirement for this role:

- Diploma in HR, payroll or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of related Payroll experience.
- Knowledge of HRIS and related systems.
- Good understanding of Employment Legislations.
- Good understanding of Health and Safety Legislations.
- Oral and Written Communication Skills.
- Knowledge of Collective Agreement and relevant policies.
- Great interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Employment Standards Act and Ontaria Health and Safety Act.

**THE ‘NICE TO HAVES’**
- Fluency in another language/ both official languages is an asset.
- HRPA membership and/ or Canadian Payroll Association membership would be as asset.
- Awareness and understanding of the necessity of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and within the community being served by the position.
- An understanding of Anti-Black Racism, anti-oppressive/anti-racism perspective in the context of the social determinants of health when working with clients and their families.
- Ability to recognize and identify situations where incidents of and imbalance of power and privilege may occur and can result in possible negative impacts.
