**Summary**

Sacajawea Non-Profit Housing Incorporated provides safe, affordable housing to homeless and at risk of homeless Indigenous people.

The **Indigenous Cultural Worker** shall work in conjunction with Sacajawea staff in outreach to vulnerable families and individuals. They will be responsible for creating, managing, and reviewing community driven programs and services. This will include program delivery, planning with tenants, cultural education, facilitating social interaction and community integration, and linking with other appropriate community services.

**Job Duties**
- Indigenous Cultural Worker will work with the team to develop community driven programs and services based on respectful dialogue and engagement
- Promote and support traditional indigenous teachings and practices for our tenants
- Engages in collaborative community partnerships to promote traditional indigenous healing, cultural teachings and practices
- Ensure that accurate program and client records are maintained, and that confidentiality is a priority
- Collaborate with community organization to source programs
- Promote and maintain a safe environment for tenants, visitors, and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Demonstrated culture sensitivity and knowledge of indigenous culture and involvement within the indigenous community
- Experience creating and managing community programs
- Ability to operate within the principles of the Seven Grandfather Teachings and the House First philosophy
- Excellent communications skills, especially verbal and written, and an ability to communicate messages in a professional and engaging manner
- Exceptional organizational abilities and time management skills, as well as the ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and prioritize
- Computer skills and excellent knowledge of MS Office programs and desktop publishing programs
- Valid CPR and first aid certificate or willingness to obtain both
- Clear vulnerable sector check

**Hours**
20 hours per week
Contract - March 31st end date (may be extended)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: $25.00 per hour
