The HRIC Right to Play Program Worker under the direction of the Executive Director will be responsible for designing and implementing healthy lifestyle programming through promotion of life skills in the youth of the HRIC, encouraging sports, recreation, leadership, and cultural activities to support and improve youth life skills and leadership, youth health promotion and community engagement.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- College diploma in Child and Youth Worker, Indigenous Studies or a combination of education and experiences;
- Experience working with Indigenous children and youth;
- Must have knowledge of social, cultural, and recreational needs and interests of children and youth;
- Experience in program planning, development, implementation, facilitation, data collection and evaluation;
- Knowledge of Indigenous and non-Indigenous community supports and services;
- Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture and history, with particular emphasis on the impacts of trauma, Indigenous youth engagement and community outreach;
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment;
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain lasting working relationships;
- Valid driver’s license with clear driving record and have access to reliable transportation is an asset;
- First Aid/CPR certification or be willing to be certified; and,
- Must be available to work some evenings and occasional weekends;
- Clean criminal record check (CPIC) with Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) if applicable.

The HRIC is a highly flexible organization offering additional compensation including 5 paid cultural days, 4 paid holidays beyond mandatory Employment Standards, paid shutdown over the winter holiday week, and health benefits. HRIC health benefits are offered to full time permanent employees, employees will be able to enroll upon the successful completion of their (3) three-month probationary period.
