**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- The program manager is a member of the team at Accreditation Canada. The program manager will be accountable for managing a newly developed surgical assessment program. This includes planning, implementation, budget, schedule, and evaluation in collaboration with our teams across Accreditation Canada and HSO while demonstrating a commitment to the Vision, Mission, Strategic Priorities, and Values of our organization. The program manager will support strategic and operational planning for this newly developed program which includes the identification of program goals and milestones, risk management, and ongoing monitoring and evaluation. You are people centered, an excellent communicator and thrive on delivering value to your clients You look at things with an eye for continuous quality improvement. You anticipate current and future trends related to healthcare accreditation and education. You are flexible and can pivot as needed. This role will provide the opportunity to deliver and enhance your skills in leadership, change management, and stakeholder engagement, which will add valuable experience to your career journey

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Manage a newly developed surgical assessment program which includes:

- Ensuring the program and required activities are focused on the delivery of value to clients and enterprise through the intended outcomes. This requires both the efficient and effective management of resources, time, work etc. to promote progress and adaptability.
- Provide critical thinking and content expertise to program staff and to clients as required.
- Facilitate the decision-making process including providing advice and guidance to team members and key stakeholders when decisions or options are required.
- Monitor and mitigate risks in collaboration with the program team and other key program partners.
- Ensure appropriate resources are assigned to programs.
- Leading the team to meet program deliverables and evaluating program progress.
- Document and communicate key lessons learned with the broader team as they arise.
- Recommends solutions that will benefit the client and the organization.
- Anticipates and responds to changing client needs.
- Looks for ways to add value beyond clients' immediate requests and acts on them.

**Must Have Qualifications**:

- University degree in a health-related field.
- 3+ years of clinical healthcare experience with a focus in surgical services.
- 3+ years of progressive and varied experience in healthcare leadership.
- Understanding of the health care system.
- Strong organizational, communication, and planning skills.
- Tried and tested analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills including energy and a positive attitude. This is key. You’ll be interacting daily with other team members and external partners.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of equity, diversity and inclusiveness principles and the ability to recognize and integrate different perspectives, roles, experiences, cultures, and backgrounds into practices and decisions.

**Desired Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree in business administration or health administration.
- An understanding of health issues, priorities, and needs while recognizing the broader trends in health care policy and system development.
- Familiarity with accreditation.

- Build relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
- In collaboration with other team members, develop and oversee a gated approach to program and change management planning and implementation.
- Complete our orientation program with other new hires to learn about HSO, our values of trust, inclusion, collaboration, innovation and learning, and our mission of quality improvement in healthcare and social services.
- Set your performance and learning objectives for the year in collaboration with your people manager.
- Meet regularly with your people manager to discuss your learning progression and alignment for your accountabilities.
