Accounting Analyst

The Accounting Analyst will provide useful and timely information to Management to make strategic and tactical decisions. This includes an understanding of business results by channel, category, customer, and entity.
The Accounting Analyst will also be a key participant in the month-end closing process as well as post month-end analysis.

**What you’ll do to be successful in this role**
- Provide monthly sales trending and margin analysis and determine reasons for variances
- Report on profitability on different levels: individual customers, distribution channels, product lines, etc. on a global basis
- Assistance in the preparation and distribution of Internal Financial Statements, as required, includes Consolidated, entity, and departmental levels of reporting
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of company-wide budget & forecast
- Month-end duties such as produce various journal entries to assist in timely completion of Financial Statements
- Assist in year-end audit - analyze and reconcile financial data and account balances to ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Ad Hoc Analysis - work on special project to identify and achieve savings in different operational areas as required
**What you’ll bring **
- Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in general accounting/finance with strong financial acumen
- Excellent analytical abilities, including advanced Excel skills to assist with financial modelling. SAP & BPC experience will be an asset
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills required to deal with various departments
- Demonstrated ability to prevent, analyze and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
- Structured independent thinker with ability to work as part of a global team
- Strong work ethic with proven ability to adapt to changing priorities with a positive attitude in an entrepreneurial environment
