Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Inventory Accounting Analyst to join our team at Canadian Tire Corporation.

About the Role

This is a key position that requires a strong understanding of inventory accounting processes and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and analytical skills to ensure business initiatives are accounted for appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare significant analyses, entries, and reconciliations as part of the monthly financial reporting process for enterprise inventory, shrink, freight costs, vendor funds, transportation, and obsolescence provisions.
  • Evaluate and report on IFRS compliance and provide accurate and timely reports and analysis to management on a monthly basis.
  • Analyze and present findings to Senior Financial Analyst and Manager regarding significant variances, key metrics, and business trends.
  • Implement the impact of business contracts and/or regulatory and accounting changes to processes and controls.
  • Develop and execute accounting and reporting models and processes.
  • Build relationships with business partners, accounting, and internal and external auditors.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Accounting or Finance areas.
  • CPA designation (or working towards) required (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in a medium/large company at a Financial Analyst/ Accountant level with strong IFRS knowledge.
  • Detail oriented with strong diagnostic and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
