As a Field Service Manager, you will work in the field, installing, managing projects, and overseeing day-to-day operations in the Field Service Department in your assigned area. In this role, you will manage a technician team comprising video surveillance and access control technicians and installers with varying competencies. This position requires extensive interaction with multiple customer organizations, product vendors and manufacturers, and with senior management of the company.
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage projects and service assignments as needed.
- Act as direct liaison between BearCom technicians and end customers.
- Work with customers to prepare quotes, bids, and schedules for completing installation and repair tasks.
- Assist with organizing and scheduling upcoming field work.
- Provides technical support in field operations.
- Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve wireless communication equipment problems with customers in a positive and efficient manner.
- Provide hands-on oversight of communications equipment and peripheral hardware installation such as access control, alarm intrusion, and security camera system. Analyze and comprehend diagnostic test results in order to repair and secure the camera system and wireless equipment.
- Handles training and coaching of field service technicians and installers.
- Some travel and on call maybe required.
- Help with other projects as assigned.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- 5+ years of leadership experience in installations in the security industry or similar experience.
- Experience in developing, qualifying, and directing new business opportunities through customer interface and requirements gathering process.
- Experienced in leading in-field service and installation teams to properly execute large-scale physical security projects.
- Experienced Installing and Troubleshooting IP Video Surveillance and Access Control Systems (Avigilon Experience a Plus)
- Skilled Reading Blueprints and/or Logic Diagrams (e.g., Visio, CAD, BlueBeam)
- Knowledge of, and experience with a network of vendor resources.
- Experience managing complex project implementations.
- Must posses understanding of business practices P&L responsibility.
- Must have excellent customer relationship skills.
- Extensive knowledge/understanding of IP Video Surveillance and Access Control Systems.
- Technical leadership experience associated with wireless solutions.
- Appropriate degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience; combination of education with professional experience and specialized training is also acceptable.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Background checks and drug tests are part of the hiring process and may include a motor vehicle check.
