**Program Coordinator - Northern Communities: Employment Services**

**Program Function**

We are currently seeking a dedicated women’s support program coordinator to provide integrated and wrap-around supports for women and gender-diverse folks in Fort McMurray and northern communities who are at risk and/or criminalized. As part of the Work4Women program, the main objective is to aid in the safe integration of at-risk women into society. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and developing client employability while offering employment support, training, and workshops. The position entails providing individual service work, including skill development and practical critical support systems for women in prison and the community. Additionally, you will assist clients in enhancing their job readiness skills, training or upgrading, job searching, resume writing, interview skills, job placement, and follow-ups. Moreover, you will provide valuable support to clients through the record suspension process, helping them secure better employment opportunities and access education and other opportunities currently limited due to their criminal record. This dynamic program involves providing one-on-one client support and various types of court support. Join our team and make a meaning impact on the lives of women in need.

**Key Responsibilities & Major Duties**

Will assist women to reduce barriers to employment by:

- Identifying individual barriers and personal strengths/goals;
- Developing a collaborative, personal, and achievable action plan (service plan);
- Offering one-to-one resume development, life skills sessions and providing access to job readiness workshops;
- Assisting with practical job search including access to resources and referrals;
- Advocating for women on issues related to Employment Standards, Human Rights and reintegration;
- Brokering services by referring women to training programs, educational institutions and other community resources to address basic living needs (clothing, food, housing)’
- Record Suspension Program Coordination - Assisting clients with the steps to complete a record suspension. Providing individual follow up and support as needed;
- Other Client services and individual support - one-on-one support, goal setting, advocacy, and referrals for agency clients. Individualized support, including court support and navigation, as well as crisis intervention.

**Group Work**
- Identify and develop program initiatives (workshops) in response to women’s employment and pre-employment needs;
- Implement, evaluate, and deliver workshops both in person and virtually on a regular basis both within the community, at Elizabeth Fry of Edmonton, and in an institutional setting;
- Establish partnerships and collaborations as appropriate.

**Casework: Service Plan Development**
- Provide information, resources, and practical support;
- Assist women to develop personal/professional goals;
- Advocate on behalf of women;
- Conduct outreach visits when necessary;
- Provide transportation assistance in the form of bus tickets or bus passes to clients who require assistance getting to and from activities relating to their quest for employment, education, or training;
- Data entry and statistics.

**Liaison**
- With other EFry staff to ensure a smooth transition of service delivery and wrap-around supports to women as they integrate into the community;
- With community agencies, educational institutions, employment/placement agencies, potential employers;
- With prisons to meet the needs of women integrating into the community and to commence rapport, building the ease of the transition from incarceration to the community.

**Other Areas of Focus**
- Teamwork including staff meetings, agency efforts, and collaborative initiatives;
- Maintain data entry and casework files;
- Community Engagement - facilitating information sessions, and connecting with communities in both rural and urban areas in Northern Alberta. Partnership building as required.
- Volunteer recruitment, training, supervision, and support as required.
- Other Group Support and Facilitation.
- Facilitating or co-facilitation group workshops, programs and series as directed.
- Developing, enhancing and creating workshop material as needed;
- Facilitation will include community and prison locations.
- Other duties as directed, such as use of Canva and graphic creation for social media/advertising.

**_Requirements:_**
- At least one (1) year of facilitation experience considered an asset;
- Maintain values and integrity that align with the Elizabeth Fry Society of Northern Alberta;
- Ability and capacity to travel across for work on occasion as needed;
- Cultural competency, Indigenous awareness, and commitment to anti-racism and anti-oppression;
- Experience creating and delivering presentations/program workshops;
- Passion about community engagement, awareness building, and abolition;
- Familiarity with Microsoft
