**Job Duties**:
Empire Cheese is currently looking for a General Manager who will play a key role in

overseeing and managing the daily operations of our production facility and retail space.

The GM is directly involved in strategic planning, team management, and ensuring the

plant's efficiency and productivity. The general manager will also play a crucial role in

health and safety, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) practices.

**Responsibilities**:

- The general manager is required to have a basic understanding of each department

to better understand daily procedures and operations. Stepping in when necessary

to assist or increase production.
- Identifying shortcomings in procedures, production or operation of the factory and

working to find solutions.
- Sourcing new sales opportunities, cultivating and maintaining relationships with

customers and the community.
- Assessing and controlling food safety concerns. Ensuring up to date records for

Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).
- Reporting to the Board of Directors in monthly meetings, implementing changes and

acting on their behalf.
- Acting as the liaison between the board of directors, the staff and the community.
- As the face of Empire, the GM must understand the importance of operating in a

small community, and continue to foster the relationship between community

members and Empire.

**Required Skills**:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a high stress, fast-paced environment

**Education/ Experience**
- Post secondary education in Business Administration or similar studies
- Experience in sales and customer relations
- Experience in the food service/ food production industry
- Experience in managerial positions
- Forklift license (not required)

**Salary**:
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
