Human Resources Generalist

**Overview**:
The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate the human resources systems of employee selection, payroll, attendance management, pension administration & benefits.
**Principle Accountabilities**:
- Conduct employee orientations focusing on MSSC’s expectations, philosophies, safety standards, hazard communications, policies and procedures.
- Participate in the day-to-day plant employee relations. Ensure positive and effective employee relations in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and collective agreement.
- Support negotiations of the collective agreement.
- Participate in Health and Safety programs which allow the plant to achieve organizational goals.
- Process Salaried employees bi-weekly payroll
- Manage benefits systems including annual enrollment activities, status change coordination and benefits problem resolution.
- Manage Green Shield system on an ongoing basis.
- Manage Sick & Accident claims
- Assist with WSIB claims and work in conjunction with HR manager.
- Help the plant achieve and maintain IATF16949:2016 certification.
- Assist management with employee relations which includes addressing and documenting employee concerns, assuring employee utilization of the open-door communication policy, managing employee resources such as EAP (Employee Assistance Program)
- Facilitate Human Resources communications such as communications meetings, written postings/notices, newsletters, etc.
- Assist HR Manager with the special projects such as recruitment, wage restructuring, succession planning, training programs and others as needed.
- Manage documentation requirements for MSSC new hires including all necessary paperwork to assure compliance with corporate, federal and provincial requirements.
- Maintain employee records
- Complete monthly Benefits billings.
- Manage attendance - hourly & salaried. Monitor discipline.
- Prepare weekly production manpower schedule
- Hourly job postings and results.
**Qualifications**:
Ø Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment is an asset
Ø Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or other business related degree or 5 years experience in related field.
Ø Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
Ø Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
**Salary**: $60,158.20-$72,792.41 per year
