- Minimum 5 years financial management/leadership experience in financial reporting, audit planning, accounting, payroll, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
- Professional accounting designation, CPA, member in good standing.
- Strong administrative background to support integrity in decision making and lead the finance team.
- Familiar with health care delivery models and systems.
- Previous experience supervising in a unionized environment and working knowledge of relevant collective agreements would be an asset.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)**
- This position reports to the Director, Finance
- Areas of responsibility include: accounting, payroll, financial controls and financial reporting and analysis; includes support for budgeting and forecasting.
- Works in collaboration with Stakeholders to provide exceptional leadership to;
- Foster positive, respectful internal and external relationships/partnerships,
- Promote a culture of safety and patient and family centered care
- Leverage technology and evidence to influence continuous process improvements
- Optimize available resources within a fiscally responsible and efficient framework
- Establishes, achieves and is accountable for Financial Strategies by:

- Estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends and variances.
- Measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, minimizing the impact of variances and achieving the targets in cost utilization based on designated benchmarks.
- Developing and maintaining balanced scorecards/indicators for the department to monitor and highlight areas for improvement;
- Ensuring cost effective utilization and fiscally responsible allocation of financial, human and capital resources.
- Ensure compliance of financial reporting to Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS), Ontario Health Reporting Standards (OHRS) and the existence of reliable internal controls.
- Accountable for Human Resource, Organizational and Operational Strategies by:

- Modeling, communicating and reinforcing values, ethical standards, policies and procedures
- Utilizing effective recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, mentoring and counselling methods.
- Fostering a safe, healthy work environment through the development of positive, collaborative relationships across interdisciplinary teams, physicians, union representatives and colleagues alike to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients, families and the organization.
- Supporting new strategies by working collaboratively to analyze concepts, develop systems, establish critical measurements, determine process and identify implementation criteria and integration methods.
