GIGG Express Inc. is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Claims Manager to join the team. As the Claims Manager, you will have a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of claims management within our trucking company. You will play a critical role in minimizing financial losses and ensuring compliance with insurance policies and regulations. This position reports directly to the Company Owners.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Claims department.
- Manage the entire claims process from initial notification to resolution, including documentation, investigation, and settlement negotiation.
- Conduct thorough investigations into accidents, damages, and losses involving company vehicles, drivers, and cargo.
- Evaluate the extent of liability and damages, including reviewing insurance policies, police reports, witness statements, and other relevant documentation.
- Collaborate with insurance carriers, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to negotiate fair and equitable settlements.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, external partners, and regulatory authorities throughout the claims process.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, attorneys, investigators, underwriters and others to resolve claims favorable to the company.
- Process freight claims in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations in effect.
- Provide guidance and support to drivers and operational staff on claims-related issues, including prevention strategies and incident reporting procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing claims management and insurance coverage, implement strategies to mitigate risk and prevent future claims.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to claims management and take corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure prompt and accurate file handling by prioritizing workloads and conducting file quality audits.
- Monitor team, identify needed improvements and develop and implement improvement programs.
- Maintain confidentiality of company information.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with handling freight/trucking claims, understanding the transportation and/or logistics industry practices.
- Strong understanding of insurance principles, coverage, and regulations.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and resolve conflicts.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s license.
- Ability to maintain high attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to work well as a team member.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
