**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- ** Contribute to overall CPSA activities**:

- Provide policy expertise around all policy development activities within CPSA.
- Utilize research and policy analysis skills, strong communication and critical thinking skills to identify, coordinate and implement policy and governance initiatives that support CPSA goals to meet its legislated mandate.
- Plan, coordinate and lead complex policy and strategic projects including preparing and delivering briefings for CPSA executives.
- Executes CPSA strategic priorities by identifying and leading special projects.
- **
Office of the Registrar leadership**:

- Lead business planning, budgeting, monthly and quarterly reporting, KPI development and tracking, approval of routine expenditures, respond to public inquiries, issue and general department management.
- Provide support and leadership to the Program Manager, Governance in establishing and implementing governance framework.
- Coordinate with the Office of the Registrar team members to improve and/or navigate workplace and engagement matters.
- Responsible for the onboarding, supervision, performance management and professional development of Office of the Registrar team members.
- Conduct RFPs and management of special projects to support Office of the Registrar priorities.
- **
Committee secretariat and support**:

- Lead secretariat for Circle, ARADAAC, and staff EDI committees.
- Collaborate to provide secretariat support including terms of reference, committee agendas, and implementation of Council approved actions.
- Monitor and provide updates on specific policy initiatives that further CPSA's ability to accomplish its mandate and strategic plan.
- **
Government Relations**:

- Manage contract with CPSA government relations consultants and lead CPSA engagement initiatives with GR contacts; coordinate and track government relations activities across CPSA departments.
- Draft letters and correspondence with senior government official and key ministry contacts.
- Provide expertise and advice regarding Government of Alberta (GoA) decisions, pressures, and direction that may impact CPSA's mandate; advise CPSA's leadership team on processes to implement legislative and regulatory changes.
- Support CPSA government engagement activity; maintain effective government relationship and liaise with government departments.
- **
Facilitate CPSA Policy and Policy Framework**:

- Implement a CPSA policy framework including staff training and support.
- Ensure consistent and standardized process for development, review and approval of CPSA policies with executive and council.
- Provide research, advise, and project management for new legislation, regulation and other health policy initiatives.
- Consult with CPSA legal counsel and external legal advisors to ensure alignment with applicable laws.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education**:

- Specialized professional skills typically obtained through a bachelor's degree plus professional certificate in area of specialty or equivalent, or additional classes in specialized area.
- Background in political science, public administration, government, law or policy development.

**Experience**:

- Requirement for 5 to 8 years of related experience.
- Experience with project management, policy writing and development, government and/or health administration.
- Demonstrated experience in researching, drafting and presenting public policy options.
- EDI and/or Indigenous engagement experience is strongly preferred.

**Skills**:

- Proven leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple demands.
- Expertise in using environmental scanning to draft public policy

**SALARY**
The salary for this position is $166,000 and includes a comprehensive benefit package and pension plan.
