**Community Assistance Team**

**Navigator**

The Community Assistance Team is a team collaborative project between Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society and University of Alberta Protective Services responding to the desire to better support the community of the University of Alberta Campus’s. CAT involves providing a person-centered, trauma-informed and culturally appropriate response to current social issues arising in and around any University of Alberta Campus utilizing a partnership model between Peace Officers and Navigator from Bent Arrow to respond jointly to issues arising on Campus.

**Navigator**

We are looking for a qualified Navigator whom will be responsible for supporting and directly working with students and community within the property of University of Alberta in collaboration with UAPS Protective Services (Peace Officer).

**Responsibilities**
- Development and implementation of client-centered case plans.
- Responsible for day to day operations including training and case load management.
- Facilitate provision of services by navigating clients to appropriate community resources.
- Meet, transport, attend client meetings and appointments, as required.
- Advocate for clients when applicable.
- Establish strong relationships with our community partnerships.
- Work collaboratively with UAPS Peace Officers, other team members and community partners.
- Provide day to day support and communication with staff.
- Knowledge in the Indigenous cultural and traditions an asset.
- Work effectively with all other supervisors on the leadership team.
- Prioritize tasks, take initiative and maintain flexibility in case plans.
- Open to providing presentations to classes throughout U of A Campus’s to provide education what services CAT offers.
- Ability to lift to 50lbs (25 kg)
- Standing on feet with occasional breaks.

**Education and Credentials**
- 3-5 years of work experience in the human services field is required.
- Degree or diploma in Human Services field, Education, Child & Youth Care.
- Experience working with Indigenous families is an asset.
- Current (within 6 months) Criminal Record check and Child & Family Intervention check, and Driver’s Abstract (without outstanding issues) is required prior to starting employment.

**Salary and Benefits**
- Salary will be discussed at interview.
- Paid sick and wellness days after 3 months’ probation.
- Extended Health Benefit (50/50 cost sharing) after 6 months’ employment.

**Start Date**

This position is to start immediately. MUST have a current Criminal Record Check & Child Intervention Check (within 6 months).
