Business Development Representative

**Responsibilities**:

- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the trucking and freight industry
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop effective strategies for customer acquisition and retention
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for business growth
- Negotiate and close deals with carriers and shippers to maximize profitability and meet company objectives
- Utilize CRM systems and tools to track and manage sales activities, leads, and customer interactions
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and opportunities to the management team
- Stay informed about industry regulations, market conditions, and emerging technologies

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is an asset
- Proven track record of success in business development within the trucking or freight brokerage industry - minimum of 3 years required
- Strong understanding of logistics, transportation, and supply chain management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have some existing relationships with shippers that can be converted
- Results-oriented with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Experience with cold calling
- Familiarity with CRM software and other sales tools
- Willingness to travel as needed
