SUMMARY OF POSITION:
We are looking to add a strategic, focused and results oriented individual to assume a Business Development position for the Greater Toronto Area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop an annual sales plan in conjunction with corporate sales and budget goals
- Identify sales prospects and call on both new and existing accounts to increase Leviton Lighting Canada’s sales and brand awareness.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
- Develop the technical expertise necessary to sell Leviton Lighting Canada’s products
- Identify and resolve client concerns.
- Service customers in an industry leading fashion.
- Coordinate with inside sales staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
- Develop and implement special sales activities.
- Report activities of the sales territory to the Regional Sales Manager.
- Participate in sales meetings and marketing events such as seminars and trade shows.
- Visibility requires maintaining and providing a positive and professional company image.
- Assist with the development and continuous improvement of the overall sales business plan
- All other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience within the lighting industry - with emphasis on LED lighting sales
- Experience with healthcare, institutional/correctional facility lighting is preferred
- Excellent working knowledge of lighting controls and LED lighting
- Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills as well as negotiation skills
- Proven track record of high sales performance, including meeting/exceeding sales targets, or very recognizable sales skills
- High level of comfort in communicating with every level of an organization from top level executives to field personnel.
- Ability and desire to learn technically complex products, demonstrated by prior success.
- Ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy & respect.
- Ability to be strategic and organized in achieving goals and targets.
- Computer Proficiency and Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) & Salesforce (CRM).
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive business information.
- Valid driver’s license & insurance.

EDUCATION
- LC (Lighting Certified) Preferred.
