- The Quality Assurance Branch examines information from a variety of sources to evaluate the ministry’s performance and functioning across the six service lines, as well as to inform decisions about quality improvement initiatives. Specifically, reviews within the Branch are primarily conducted for four purposes:
- To examine the performance of a director (or other ministry staff) in the provision of service to children, youth, young adults and families.
- To monitor the performance of any other person or agency under agreement with the ministry to provide services to children, youth, young adults or families.
- Public accountability.

The Manager of Quality Assurance is a member of the Office of the Provincial Director and Aboriginal Services division and is responsible for one of the ministry’s Quality Assurance Branch teams (Service Evaluations (practice audits), Accreditation, Child and Family Practice Reviews (case review), Complaints/Administrative Review) to promote service excellence across the six service lines. The Manager of Quality Assurance provides supervision and guidance to the Branch’s Practice Analysts as well as to other included and excluded staff. The Manager ensures the Directors of Quality Assurance and other Divisional executive receive the necessary information and support to carry out their duties.

**Job Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Social Work; OR Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Child and Youth Care; OR Master of Education in Counselling Psychology/Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.
- Extensive experience with the Ministry of Children and Family Development, OR an Indigenous Child and Family Services Agency, OR similar organization in the social services field, AND come with increasing responsibilities which reflect the depth and breadth of experience in one (1) or more of the following service areas: child protection and family services; guardianship, adoption and permanency; youth services; children and youth with support needs; child and youth mental health; and youth justice.
- Other equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

**Preference may be given to applicants with the following**:

- Master’s degree in Social Work OR Child and Youth Care.
- Five (5) or more years of recent experience (within the last 10 years) with the Ministry of Children and Family Development, OR an Indigenous Child and Family Service Agency, OR similar organization in the social services field, with increasing responsibilities which reflect the depth and breadth of experience in any of the services areas listed above.
- Ten (10) or more years of experience working with children and families in the social services sector.
- Three (3) or more years of work experience as an analyst, senior analyst, supervisor, team leader or senior/lead practitioner.
- One (1) year of work experience providing expert analysis, advice and assistance in each of the following areas, but any three (3) must be met to be considered: legislation, regulations, policies, procedures, administrative fairness.
- Supplementary course(s) in project management and project management experience.
- Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
