The branch works directly with ministry teams to discover opportunities to improve service delivery - and then helps build the digital products, processes and policy to help make these improvements real.

The Lead Data Strategy provides leadership, expertise and creative solutions on data management, focusing on information management, data governance, and data strategy as it relates to digital service delivery. Reporting to the Executive Director, Service Transformation, the Lead provides leadership and strategic direction to divisions, their partners and other central agencies.

**Job Requirements**:

- Related Bachelor’s degree in a data/technology discipline, public administration and/or digital governance.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Three or more years of experience leading data strategy, data management or governance in organization(s) to achieve outcomes that impact service delivery and related digital products.
- Two or more years of experience working in an agile environment with cross-functional teams to iteratively create and improve products and services.
- Experience in end-to-end data, metadata management principles and data management lifecycle.
- Experience communicating technical information to diverse audiences and discussing complex and new topics in a simple, easy-to-understand way.
- Experience supervising or leading a team.
- Experience working with a portfolio of clients in a customer service environment.
- Advanced degree in data science, computer science or technology/digital governance.
- Experience analyzing and using customer insight and user and performance data to design and continually improve digital services.
- Experience in using tools used to identify and manage structured and unstructured data.
- Experience using data governance technologies.
- Experience working in agile digital service delivery.
- Strong background and working knowledge of data quality improvements.
- Experience facilitating and coaching people for change adoption, including group processes.

**About this Position**:
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
Currently there is 1 temporary opportunity available until March 31, 2026.
