Consumer Insights and Research Manager

Specifically, this role will deliver Category, Consumer, Brand Understanding and provide actionable recommendations to drive brand growth, overseeing all aspects of consumer, brand research, leading vendor research relationships, relationships with global International insights team, category and brand research projects, mining trends and historic behavior data that will help define the targeting and conversion of campaigns as well as simple ad hoc research requests. Strong communicator that can translate qualitative and quantitative data from a variety of sources into actionable insights that will fuel consumer concepts, inform brand positioning, and provide clear direction on category opportunities.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement the overall consumer research and insights strategy for the company.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand consumer needs, preferences, and behaviors.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and threats.
- Lead all cross brand consumer insights project for the company working with International team, external suppliers (ex. IPSOS testing, CCM reporting, Monthly consumer qualitative immersions, Nielsen relationships)
- Lead qualitative and quantitative consumer research to inform new product development including idea screening, consumer qual, concept testing, and consumer sensory tests
- Leading all research briefing and development with external partners and serving as Primary contact with global Insights team. Primary contact with external research partners managing all relationships and review process with partners.
- Conduct, analyze and present key findings/insights from primary research using licensed quantitative tools
- Develop and deliver presentations that effectively communicate research findings to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of research and insights programs, and make recommendations for improvement
- Push for continuously optimizing marketing programs based on consumer insights and develop in depth consumer insights on based on research learnings
- Lead on consumer insights and research for entire marketing organization, guiding training, upskilling of marketing organization on research projects and ensuring marketing teams are building insight driven marketing plans.
- Synthesize latest relevant trends from secondary resources to identify most compelling sources of changing consumer purchase behaviours. Share insights with broader marketing team on a regular basis.
- Develops deep understanding of category, shopper insight, competitive and retailer landscape to inform future marketing initiatives
- Lead research that drives clear understanding of category triggers/barriers to drive effectiveness and efficiency of consumer journey
- Drive key consumer stories for key innovation/brand strategies to take to customer working together with Category Management/Insights team and Sales Strategy
- Evangelize insights within company, strategy, agencies educating team on key trends, insights that can or will impact our business
- Monitor competitive activity and recommend solutions to meet/counter competitive threats to business
- Provides industry, consumer trends to develop strategic action plans on opportunity areas for the business
- Manage all research analysis/reportings/schedules for Finance Budget cycles - BU, LE1/LE2
- Increase the literacy of Consumer Insights across the Commercial team
**Requirements**:
- 5-7 years of marketing/consumer insights experience in CPG
- Undergraduate degree
- Ability to work collaboratively across a wide range of groups and adept at stakeholder management
- Ability to work under pressure and to deal with ambiguity
- Champion of personal and professional growth with demonstrated modelling of a growth mindset
- Strong analytical and research skills, with a deep understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Excellent communication, written and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex research findings to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently
- Extensive experience in work collaboratively with constituent groups, including staff, C-Suite, and other stakeholders
