**PROFILE**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Handles a variety of transactions from routine to more complex, requiring familiarity with office accounting procedures and practises in relation to one or more specific accounting portfolios.
- Reviewing source documents and using specific accounting codes and classifications, posts to registers or subsidiary ledgers (i.e. account payable, receivable, collections, etc.).
- Verifies consistency, completeness and accuracy of accounting documents, making corrections where necessary.
- Assigns prescribed accounting distribution codes which may require some interpretation.
- Traces transactions through previous accounting work to determine any discrepancies.
- Reconciles bank accounts etc. and reports any discrepancies to supervisor.
- Liaises with internal/external clients to address any issues, escalating more complex issues to superior.
- Any other duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- High school diploma
- Post-secondary courses in accounting
- Three year’s directly related work experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with other Firm members, with the aptitude to take care of clients’ needs in a professional and courteous manner
- Capacity to work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Produce a high quality and quantity of work product, occasionally under tight timelines
- Able to prioritize and to redefine priorities when necessary
- Handle stress in a business-like manner
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of accounting software and banking procedures.
- Knowledge of Aderant Expert accounting system will be considered an asset
