**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Manager, Transitions and Student Life, the Student Life Program Assistant (SLPA) supports the mission and strategic directions of the Student Community and Engagement (SCE) team through high-quality administrative and operational support with student volunteer programming and community partnerships, and front-facing student services. Working closely with the CCSAI, community partners and other stakeholders across the College, the SLPA will have oversight of student volunteer initiatives, including fairs, appreciation events and other volunteer-related activities. Finally, the SLPA will provide direct support to the reporting Manager by coordinating meetings and events as well as general departmental logistics. In addition to supporting student life programming, the SLPA will liaise with the SCE communications team to promote programs and services via the various digital and printed channels.

**Responsibilities**
Program Development and Implementation
- Gather and compile foundational research for design and delivery of departmental programming and initiatives - including best practices, environmental scans, and literature
- Assist with the drafting, processing, and distribution of written and verbal communication (including Executive team speaking requests), working with the SCE communications team on marketing requests, promotional materials, social media, reports, and College broadcasts, etc.
- Provide administrative and logístical support for student life events, initiatives and key events (e.g., orientation, Engagement Week, etc.) by ordering supplies, coordinating schedules, selecting swag

Student Volunteer Programs
- Serve as the College lead for connecting students to volunteer activities as part of the Peer Education and Mentorship Framework - working with the College community (Academic Schools and service areas), the CCSAI, and community partners; including developing and maintaining the associated database and workflows
- Coordinate Student Volunteer Fairs each term with community partners
- Collaborate with the CCSAI, Alumni, and other services in hosting the College’s annual Student Volunteer Appreciation Event

Student Engagement Tools
- Liaise with external vendors and/or IT on digital engagement platforms and tools on website compatibility planning, issues and concerns.
- With the Co-curricular Student Engagement Coordinator, the SLPA will assist with training and support for colleagues across the co-curricular learning environment in relation to digital engagement tools and their use
- Work within the co-curricular learning environment to leverage platforms and tools to maximize communications with students, dissect assessment data to adjust strategies and directions for use, and coordinate program and event offerings.

Student Life Program Assessment
- With the guidance and support of the Manager, the SLPA will:

- Track and report on progress of program and portfolio deliverables (i.e., assessments and outcomes)
- Prepare presentations, communications, and engage in a community of practice to maintain and enhance current knowledge of best practices, trends, and research
- Assist in the drafting and distribution of the department’s annual report - collating data and metrics from department team members in a cohesive document in collaboration with the Manager
- Scheduling meetings, taking minutes at these meetings as required, assembling and distributing required materials for attendees (including agendas), and arranging for refreshments when necessary. This also includes tracking and coordinating workshop request submitted by the college community through the online form.
