**Accounts Payable Lead**

**Position Summary**:
Accounts Payable Lead is directly responsible for performing data entry and related duties in disbursing non-payroll accounts payable to individuals, suppliers, businesses and other entities. The A/P will also ensure the timely and accurate processing of payment documents such as invoices, purchase orders and any other accounting transactions related to A/P management. This position involves diplomatic interaction to provide billing information and support to facilitate daily bank reconciliations.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Match invoices to receiving reports.
- Enter invoices and cost purchase orders.
- Process related items including debits, credits, and claims.
- Work collaboratively with the members of the team and company.
- Correspond effectively with vendors and other third parties.
- EDI processing of supplier invoices.
- Prepare manual and electronic cheque runs as required.
- Assist in dealing with vendor queries, reconciling vendor statements and other.
- Learn to become a resource for problem solving and reconciliations.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.

**Preferred Skills & Experience**:

- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in business administration preferred with one to three years of experience in a business setting, or an equivalent combination of knowledge and experience.
- Some knowledge of accounting systems and internal controls with the ability to reconcile accounts and amounts.
- Comfortable working in a computerized environment with good keyboarding skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. SX Enterprise / Trend experience is an asset.
- Sound communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Organizational skills to prioritize, execute and complete required tasks on time.
