- As the Quality Assurance Investigative Strategist, reporting to the Quality Assurance Risk Manager in the Professional Standards Section (PSS), you will analyze all components of PSS investigations and complete investigative reports, disposition letters and other legislatively required documents. You will also assess investigations and strategize to ensure file progression and provide recommendations to ensure legislative timelines are met. Specific duties include:

- Draft PSS written correspondence and deliverables (Service Investigation requests, letters, disposition letters, statistical reports, 45 day letters as legislatively required, and other PSS correspondence).
- Create investigation strategies and management which includes the ability to analyze PSS investigations to ensure adherence to the _Police Act_ and _Police Service Regulation_ legislation.
- Provide recommendations while examining risks to the Service to expedite investigations to meet timelines and research and analyze risks and common themes throughout the investigation.
- Draft and maintain section wide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure they adhere with policy.
- File management tasks including file reconciliations to ensure investigations are appropriately concluded.
- IAPro software system facilitation and management including troubleshooting user issues and determining best practices for the section.
- Provide strategic analytical reporting by preparing analytical and statistical reports for the Calgary Police Commission, the Complaint Oversight Committee and PSS Leadership as well as preparing the PSS Annual Report.

**Qualifications**
- A degree in in the Social Sciences or related field, and 5 years of related work experience writing technical reports or correspondence for management in a legal, law enforcement or regulatory environment is required.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Teams) and IAPro are also considered assets.
- Success in the position requires strong communication, efficiency and thoroughness, focus on results, the ability to foster and build relationships, service orientation, stress tolerance, team building and teamwork.

**Working Conditions**:Exposure to emotionally disturbing events such as medical distress, violence threatened/actual serious injury, abuse, and death.

- An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.
