Career Service Coordinator

Trebas Institute, established in 1979, is a private vocational school with campuses in Montreal and Toronto and offers a broad range of programs in audio, film and television, business and technology as well as music, event and entertainment management. Under the supervision of the Career Services Manager, the Career Services Coordinator is responsible for building meaningful connections with students and employers, providing programs and support to students in their career learning and development, and working collaboratively with internal and external partners to help our students and graduates achieve successful employment rates that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.
**Specific Responsibilities**
- Actively seek, develop, and nurture working relationships with employers in related program fields to provide meaningful and successful employment opportunities to students and graduates.
- Identify barriers to employment for international students and develop solutions, resources, and assistance to resolve those barriers
- Actively seek, develop, and promote part-time employment opportunities for current students both on and off-campus.
- Develop and maintain physical and digital informational job boards, while actively implementing new and innovate strategies to increase student awareness of potential employment opportunities within related fields.
- Develop effective methods of communicating with students, graduates and employers related to career development and employment opportunities.
- Coordinate job fairs, networking events and career-related experiences for students and graduates, both on and off-campus.
- Gather, generate, and report on employment rates and statistical data through surveys and other correspondence with students, graduates, and employers to ensure the success of career-related efforts, and to meet other college requirements.
- Maintain current database of student documentation related to work-integrated learning formats, ensuring that required reports are completed accurately and timely.
- Administer work-integrated learning follow-up surveys and other correspondence to students, graduates, and employers.
- Perform other student and career service-related duties as assigned.
**Position Requirements**
**Education and Experiences**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years in Career Services or HR from the staffing industry or higher education.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check Required
**Knowledge and Skills**:
- Demonstrated skills in understanding career foundations and job placement.
- Proven experience handling a large caseload and working with international students is a definite asset.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work tasks or projects.
- Ability to make public presentations in small or large group settings.
- Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
- Ability to work with an ethnically and culturally diverse population.
- Cooperate and collaborate as a member of a team.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to prepare and maintain records, correspondence, reports, and other data. Knowledge of online communication platforms, techniques, and tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
