The staff members of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are committed to the provision of high quality services to Albertans. Activities performed enable the Office to certify the cause and manner of death in accordance with the Fatalities Inquiries Act; provide forensic service, assist in educating Albertans in time of grief; and develop and maintain a center of excellence in forensic pathology and toxicology.

**Role**:
This position is responsible for technical aspects of ensuring the integrity of the line of business database and statistical information housed within Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME). The Analyst is responsible for designing and testing effective and efficient system changes/enhancements to improve business and service delivery processes for the OCME.

Position Overview:

- Must be knowledgeable on the OCME program and the business and delivery processes in order to resolve a range of end user issues.
- Generates data and statistics from OCME’s MEDIC database. Is able to deliver data and trend analysis, and creates visual graphs to support strategic and operational goals.
- Must be able to generate data and statistics to meet various information requests, often within short timeframes.
- Designs systems enhancements that provide for technical modernization, address required refinements of business functions, or accommodate changes in legislation.
- Promote and support data integrity, pull statistics, and complete written and visual trend analysis for various information requests.
- Provide a high level of service for all technology related items, both onsite and remotely.

**Qualifications**:
University graduation in a related field plus 4 years progressively responsible experience

**Equivalencies may be considered**:
Directly related education or experience will be considered on the basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Effective computer literacy including familiarity with web browser technology, office automation software, related hardware, and basic understanding of telecommunications terminology.

**Assets**
- Experience in Microsoft Excel generating graphs and charts
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI set of software tools
- Experience with the SQL Service Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Experience providing written and verbal analysis concisely for Senior Management
- Experience in ensuring data integrity of statistics
- Experience in providing program support/services to internal or external clients

**Salary**:
$2,716.64 - $3.550.90 bi-weekly ($70,904 - $92.678/ year)
