**COMMUNITY COORDINATOR (12 Month Term)**

**Maternity Leave Coverage starting in February 2025**

Reporting to the Manager, Community Engagement, you will support programs and events for early and growth stage technology companies. Invest Ottawa is the lead economic development agency for knowledge-based industries that serves Ottawa’s hottest technology startups. The IO Venture Development team is looking for an organized, creative individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- 10 days per month required in the office at Bayview Yards and Area X.O

**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**:

- Supporting the planning, execution, and evaluation of Hybrid and In-Person events;
- Onboarding and offboarding tenants of our co-working space
- Stocking and improving the co-working space as needed & engaging with tenants as a matter of customer service and to obtain feedback
- Build, edit and manage a monthly newsletter
- Tracking key community metrics on a monthly basis
- Leveraging Microsoft Dynamics to track community engagement with events and

perks;
- Coordinating our startup Perks program; including conducting research on relevant SaaS platforms, onboarding new startup Perks, and continuously evaluating the program
- Promoting events and resources through Slack, newsletters, on-site TV screens, and posters;
- Assist in managing and engaging our Slack workspace;
- Engage users in our volunteer advisory platform (Mentorloop) to find and connect with a mentor Other duties as assigned by the manager.

**WHAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED/GAINED THROUGHOUT YOUR CAREER**:

- Understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook);
- Experience using Canva, Knak, Eventbrite, Asana, and Slack considered an asset
- Familiar with creating and managing virtual events through Zoom
- Familiar with planning and executing in-person events
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks;
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with varied deadlines;
- Exceptional attention to detail;
- Self-starter who is highly motivated and takes initiative

- **Effective Event Management**: Successfully plan, execute, and evaluate hybrid and in-person events, gathering feedback for improvement.
- **Relationship Builder**: Efficiently onboard and offboard tenants, maintain the coworking space, and ensure tenant satisfaction.
- **Effective Communicator**: Create and manage engaging newsletters, and promote events through various channels.
- **Data-Driven Approach**: Track and analyze community metrics using Excel and Microsoft Dynamics to enhance engagement.
- **Stay Organized**: Coordinate the startup Perks program, onboard new perks, and engage the community through Slack and Mentorloop
