**Position Details**
- Context:_
The Human Resources Department is responsible for planning, directing and implementing the various human resources policies, procedures, and programs in support of the organization's mandate. The department provides support, interpretation, and advice to departments, regional offices, and senior management in the areas of employee relations, staffing, job evaluation, compensation, staff development, safety, payroll and benefits administration.
- Duties:_
Reporting to the Manager, Payroll and Benefits Administration, the incumbent will ensure that payroll transactions (including new hires, transfers, promotions, demotions, terminations and general economic increases) are processed in compliance with Collective Agreements, policy, and applicable legislation. The incumbent calculates changes in group insurance, enters changes in deductions into payroll system, and reviews approved payroll entries (overtime, stand‐by) and attendance records. Other related duties, including calculation of potential pension benefits, maintaining spreadsheets, compiling and remitting premiums and statutory remittances, and compiling information for T4/T4A preparation, are required.

**Criteria**

Screening Criteria:

- Graduation from a two year diploma program in Business Administration (Equivalencies will be considered)
- Experience in payroll and benefits administration
- Certification as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (Asset)
- Experience with Avanti Human Resource Information System (Asset)

- Knowledge of payroll practices and processes
- Knowledge of benefits administration
- Knowledge of Collective Agreements (asset)
- Ability to use computerized payroll systems and MS Office (particularly Excel)
- Ability to effectively exchange information
- Ability to manage time and tasks
