**Title**: Policy Analyst II
**Contract**: Permanent
**Hours**: 9:00am to 5:00pm
**Location**: 701-1166 Alberni St, Vancouver, BC (Hybrid - 2 days in the office).

**About the role**
As the Policy Analyst II, you will undertake strategy, policy, evaluation, and research functions for all Health Benefit areas, Pharmacy, Dental, Medical Supplies & Equipment, Vision, Crisis Mental Health, and Medical Transportation. This includes the development of reports, presentations, implementation plans and publications. In this role, you will develop strong and effective working relationships with colleagues, First Nations communities, health service partners and with federal, provincial and external health system partners and stakeholders. This role works closely with internal and external groups, FNHA teams and community leadership to develop and deliver presentations and training material to further health literacy within First Nations communities.

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have:

- University Degree in a related field such as health policy, public policy, health systems management, political or social science with at least 4 - 6 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Recent, relevant and significant experience in research, analysis, policy development and report preparation related to the Health or Social services sector
- Experience working with First Nations leadership and communities and First Nations health programs and services
- Experience in policy development and analysis (ideally in the health sector or with First Nations issues and priorities)
- Experience in research, writing, and report development; in community engagement or consultative processes; with issues management and de-escalation; and with group facilitation
- Ability to draw pertinent points and succinctly capture complex issues while managing group dynamics
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Knowledge of health benefits as it relates to First Nations and of BC First Nations communities, their health governance model and issues facing them relative to health and wellness
- Ability to conduct research and analysis, including clearly identifying and defining policy issues, providing analysis to a high professional standard, and designing and evaluating policy options from a First Nations viewpoint
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, including public speaking, and note taking skills
- Ability to translate complex concepts into easily understood and audience appropriate briefing notes, reports and presentations
- Ability to utilize, proficiently, the Microsoft Office suite
