- The Specialist will process Canadian bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for multiple divisions. This role handles the day-to-day inquiries from customers and maintains payroll data in the current payroll system. This role will also support the accounting department in areas such as AP by performing various clerical and administrative tasks to support the accounting department. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills and keeping data confidential are typically required for this role.**Essential Responsibilities**

Prepare, process and monitor bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for multiple divisions. Timely and accurately, following Canadian legislation and companies
- policies and procedures.
- Process ROE, balance EHT, WCB for each pay period.
- Document payroll processes with process maps, checklists, procedures, etc.
- Perform RRSP and Benefit remittance.
- Partner with HR to manage the resolution of all payroll inquiries while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Process special payments to employees per company policy.
- Participate in developing, testing, implementing new processes/systems.
- Complete year-end reconciliation for a variety of provincial jurisdictions.
- Prepare and/or create custom reports, as needed, using data stored in the payroll system for analysis.
- Handles complex issues and problems. Refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Foster teamwork with HR, managers, and employees to improve overall processes related to paying employees.
- Accounts Payable data processing (2-way, 3-way, and manual coded invoices)
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Highschool diploma or general education diploma
- Minimum 2 years in payroll processing, end to end
- Advanced Excel skills
- Canadian payroll expertise preferred
- Dayforce system experience preferred
- Accounts payable experience desirable

**Working Conditions**
- Temperature controlled working environment.
- Must wear personnel protective equipment at all times (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, safety harnesses as required) and respirators when required.
- Must be able to work from all types of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders, and all-size extension ladders).
- Job requires working in an office/shop setting.
- Working in front of a computer for the majority of the shift.

**Physical Requirements**
- Maintaining body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.
- Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner.
- Standing, walking, and speaking for long periods of time.
- Perceiving size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with the fingertips.
