**The salary range for this position is**:
**Recruitment range: $62,800- $69,237** starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

**Performance range: starting salary to max of $81,662** is available through annual performance increases.
- Job SummaryReporting to the Director, Administration, the Executive Programs Finance Officer (FO) is responsible for participating in all aspects of the finance and accounting processes, and for the accurate and efficient management and administration of the unit’s financial resources. This position contributes to financial decisions and monitors various financial accounts related to unit or program operations.

The FO works collaboratively with and provides leadership, advice, direction and problem solving for the Associate Directors and Account Executive related to the budget functions, finance and accounting operations of the unit.

The FO ensures the preparation and reconciliation of monthly financial reporting, outstanding commitments, cash flow and annual reconciliation to GL; prepares quarterly financial reports and is also responsible for acquiring, managing and providing analytics on metrics pertaining to financial, enrolment and other course data, and participates on special projects related to finance and data analysis.

The FO is involved with developing accounting/finance procedures, preparing budget submissions and reports, undertaking variance analysis, responding to queries about financial details and all other financial analysis, including continuously evaluating financial processes and procedures within the unit, making recommendations for improvements and implementing processes and policy changes where necessary.

The FO liaises with the Faculty Finance Officer within the Gustavson School of Business on related finance and analytic projects.

The FO may periodically be required to work outside of regular office hours (Mon-Fri, 8:30 - 4:30) and on weekends in support of audits or other financial activities.
- Job RequirementsThis position requires:

- An undergraduate degree in commerce, finance, accounting or related field and 3 years of experience in an accounting or financial role with proven experience in budgeting and financial analysis of large and complex budgets, forecasting, management and leadership.
- A recent completion or near completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA) is an asset.
- Experience with financial analysis and project accounting, year-end audit support and financial statements preparation.
- Related experience in post-secondary or an academic environment with an understanding of University structure, policies, and procedures is preferred.
- Experience providing guidance to administrative support and professional staff.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Knowledge requirements include:

- Financial and management accounting principles and best practices.

- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple budgetary and procedural projects, prioritize, use judgement and make decisions independently, be self-motivated, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain productive and supportive working relationships, with integrity, diplomacy and tact, and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of personal and sensitive information.
- Superior level of skill in a networked, computer environment that includes software packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Share Point.

Assets or Preferences:

- Knowledge of University systems such as FAST Finance, Journal Voucher, Budget and Forecasting, FAMIS, is an asset.
