Senior Helpers Vancouver is looking for experienced, caring, kind, dependable, and personable individuals who desire to provide in-home care to the elderly. Our experienced caregivers often become like surrogate family members helping to meet the needs of our clients, allowing them to maintain their independence at home.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assisting clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Assisting clients with instrumental activities of daily living such as light housekeeping, meal preparation
- Monitoring and reporting any changes in the client's condition to the healthcare team
- Providing assistance with mobility and transferring patients safely
- Supporting patients with eating and drinking, adhering to dietary requirements
- Assisting with medication reminders and medication administration under supervision
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients
- Providing emotional support and companionship to patients and their families

**Requirements**:

- Current registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
- Completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant program
- Previous experience working as a Health Care Assistant in a healthcare setting preferred (minimum 1 year)
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanour
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to speak and write in English. Other languages will be an asset.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Negative TB test
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past 90 days

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

**Salary**: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week

Licence/Certification:

- BC Care Aide Registry? (required)
