**Primary Objective of the Position**:
**Essential Position Functions**:

- Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures for the accounts payable function.
- Manage the AP automation to understand the key interfaces between the different systems.
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and other payment requests. Ensure accurate general ledger coding.
- Monitor and manage accounts payable aging.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and ensure standard procedures are properly documented with an emphasis on strong internal controls for approve payments to vendors.
- Responsible to ensure weekly payments cycle are completed on time. Prepare weekly cash requirements for EFT, cheque, and online bill payments.
- Lead the month end closing process.
- Review and process accounts payable transactions accurately and timely, ensuring proper procedures are followed and deadlines are met.
- Lead the vendor management and maintenance process. Review existing design and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage the company corporate credit card program.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationship with internal and external stakeholders. Continuous support and communication will be required.
- Process various reports, audits, and/or reconciliations including the creation of adhoc reporting monthly, quarterly, annually.
- Work with auditors with respect to A/P inquiries.
- Continuously evaluate existing processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and automation.
- Implement and leverage technological solutions to optimize accounts payable and procurement processes.
- Support the team with ad hoc duties as required.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Completion of Post-Secondary Education in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of Accounts Payable Supervisory experience.
- Experience with SAP: Proficiency in working with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable best practices, financial operations, and procurement strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in optimizing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving cost savings.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Advanced excel skills for working with large volumes of data.
- Effective problem solving, critical thinking and influential skills.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people and answer queries in a professional manner.
- Flexible team player with the ability to function independently while working in a team environment.
- Proven ability to accurately handle high volume of transactions, meet deadlines and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
