Summary of Duties:
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for providing communications support to the Lil’wat Nation. In this role, you should be an excellent communicator with strong attention to detail and be able to create effective content with the ability to multitask.

Key Deliverables and Expectations:

- Develop and implement overall and project-specific communications strategies.
- Provide communication support to programs and internal teams
- Draft and edit communications material including but not limited to bi-weekly Chiefs and Council Briefs, Newsletters, press releases, publications, and social media posts
- Liaise with Media and set up times for interviews with authorized spokespeople for the Nation
- Update databases and media lists
- Track projects and media exposure
- Facilitate effective internal and external communications.
- Providing administrative support to internal teams.
- Organizing marketing and networking events.
- Assist in drafting and posting social media and web content according to the Li?l?wat Nation’s social media strategy.
- Perform other related duties as requested.

Experience and Attributes:

- Communication University degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Understanding of media relations and digital media strategies
- Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with design software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign) and content management systems is a plus
- Solid editing and research skills
- Proficiency in office management software and design software such as WordPress, and InDesign.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines prioritizes assignments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Motivated self-starter and with strong interpersonal skills.
- Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and Members.
