**Reporting to**: Projects and Culture Manager
**Summary of Duties**:
The Land Use Plan (LUP) Project Coordinator will provide project support for updating the Lil’wat Nation Land Use Plan. Lands and Resources department projects fall under the supervision of the Projects and Culture Manager. This includes conducting community engagement and administrative tasks for the effective management of projects related to the Lil’wat Nation Land Use Plan, which outlines approved land uses and activities within Lil’wat Territory.
**Key Deliverables and Expectations**:
- Provides leadership in research and coordination of Land Use Plan update project.
- Attends project information meetings in relation to the Land Use Plan update and the general Lands and Resources department.
- Coordination of all meetings between Lands department staff and Projects Committee members.
- Facilitates the creation of community engagement information materials and events for projects.
- Coordinate community engagement and information sharing events; required to be able to work some evenings and weekends.
- Provides technical and administrative support for the Land Use Plan update project.
- Develops draft policy related to land use planning and management throughout Lil’wat Territory for review by Managers.
- Analyzes project progress and, when necessary, adapts scope or timeline to achieve optimal results.
- Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
**Experience and Attributes**:
- Professional Certification or Diploma in First Nations Land Management, Community and Regional Planning, Environmental Law, Governance, Natural Resource Management or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 1 to 2 years of experience coordinating and/or overseeing land use management projects an asset.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines prioritizes assignments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Motivated self-starter and with strong interpersonal skills.
- Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and Members.
- Knowledge of land management issues and legislation affecting First Nations both locally, regionally, and federally.
- Knowledge and understanding of Lil’wat Nation’s culture, history, reserve lands and traditional territory.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
- Cleared Criminal Record Check.
