Finance & HR Assistant

Clan Mothers Healing Village is seeking a **Finance & HR Assistant (4 days/week)**

Clan Mothers Healing Village (CMHV) is a charitable organization creating a healing village on 160 acres of land on Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba. CMHV is an Indigenous-Led, matriarchal healing community for survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking. Clan Mothers also leads several social enterprises for the purposes of training, sustaining, and expanding the reach and inclusion of the Clan Mothers Healing Village and Knowledge Centre.

Clan Mothers Healing Village utilizes traditional Indigenous Ways of Knowing to govern operations, guide expansion, contribute to the wellbeing of all Clan Mothers community members, and provide true healing for all those individuals CMHV encounters. CMHV seeks to simultaneously decolonize systems and revitalize Indigenous understanding to function and grow in a good way. All Clan Mothers community members seek only to end the exploitation of human beings and to facilitate healing not only of people, but of the land as well.

**Responsibilities**:
Finance: Working in conjunction with the Operations & Planning Team to recommend and administer proper financial procedures and practices for all employees of Clan Mothers Healing Village.
- Assists the Operations & Planning Team with the efficient execution of financial plans for the organization.
- Supports the Operations & Planning Team on specific financial related projects and tasks.
- Manages the day-to-day bookkeeping requirements using Quickbooks Online.
- Provides regular financial reports to Operations & Planning Team including budget vs.actuals, program and grant reports.

Human Resources: Assist the Clan Mothers Healing Village Policy Team to review, revise and recommend changes to policies and procedures for improved effectiveness and alignment with CMHV core values and governance.
- Manages and maintains the CMHV automated payroll system for all employees and staff.
- Manages employee and staff vacation and sick leave tracking systems, providing regular reporting to Operations & Planning Team.
- Properly handles employee requests regarding human resources issues, policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent organizational, self-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Quickbooks Online.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and databases, particularly in Microsoft Office, Google and Adobe Suites.
- Awareness of trauma informed practices while working with marginalized peoples or willingness to learn..
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
- Experience working with a team and creating an environment that fosters collaboration.
- Acceptance of honest feedback and coaching for professional growth.
- Ability to positively demonstrate compassion, empathy and respect for others.

Additional Requirements:

- Finance & HR Assistant will work from our office in downtown Winnipeg.
- Occasional evenings & weekends and travel to the Belair, Manitoba Healing Village.
- Participation in Indigenous teachings & ceremonies.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

**Start Date**:

- June 15, 2023 or earlier

**Salary Range**:

- $24 - $30 per hour
