**Background**

The Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging (RIA) is a charitable non-profit organization that partners with the University of Waterloo, Conestoga College, and Schlegel Villages to enhance care and quality of life for older adults. Through engagement with key partners and collaborators, RIA supports practice-relevant research and knowledge mobilization. Research evidence is used to inform programs, education and training, and influence practice and policy.

The Ontario Centres for Learning, Research and Innovation for Long-Term Care (CLRI) is a program of the RIA and partners with the long-term care (LTC) sector to enhance the health and well-being of those who live and work in LTC homes. We provide programs and resources to train and engage the current and future workforce. The Ontario CLRI is funded by the Government of Ontario and hosted at Baycrest Health Sciences, Bruyère and the RIA.

**Primary Purpose**
The Evaluation Coordinator will provide support for the development and implementation of evaluation strategies, execution, and reports, for two projects, 1) Preceptor Resource and Education Program for Long-Term Care (PREP LTC), an initiative aimed at supporting preceptor training and the clinical education student placement experience in LTC and, 2) the PSW Education Fund for LTC, a project that offers four education programs supporting skill development for team members working in LTC.

The Evaluation Coordinator will work with the Evaluation Manager and Project Manager to coordinate evaluation activities among participating organizations, aid in data organization, cleaning and development of reports to demonstrate the progress and impact of the projects. The Evaluation Coordinator is expected to work independently and collaboratively with team members. The role will support RIA’s vision, mission, and values as well as have an interest and passion for enhancing quality of life and care for older adults and team members working in senior living.

**Key Accountabilities**
- **Evaluation Coordination**:Provide coordination of evaluation activities for large-scale provincial projects in alignment with the program mandates. This role is responsible for supporting the coordination, collection and analysis of the evaluations as it relates to project goals and reporting.
- **Data collection**:Develop or adapt evaluation tools, conduct literature reviews, environmental scans, stakeholder mapping, and related activities to inform project planning and progress.
- **Data Analysis and Synthesis**: Support the preparation of quantitative and qualitative evaluation data to assist the Evaluation Manager and Project Manager in data analysis. Support in the development of evaluation reports and/ or presentations.
- **Communication**:Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences and clearly communicate evaluation strategies, implementation plans, and reports with the project teams and external collaborators including obstacles and challenges as they arise.
- **Other**:Take on additional tasks, activities and special projects, as they arise.

**Position Requirements**

**Education**:
University degree, preferably in the healthcare or education field.
**Skills and Experience**:

- A minimum of 1 year of experience implementing evaluation plans and supporting mixed method evaluations of complex community-based projects.
- Have experience collecting both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Experience with virtual evaluation, including virtual evaluation tools and techniques.
- Experience in creating and maintaining a positive evaluation environment which supports the diversity of participant cultures, educational background and learning styles.
- Experience working as a team and independently to achieve goals.
- Self-starter with a proactive attitude who can anticipate needs.
- Experience using various systems/technologies to optimize evaluation methods, specifically Google Workspace (docs, sheets, meets) and Microsoft products (word, excel).
- Knowledge of senior living environments (long-term care, retirement homes, etc.) is an asset.
- Fluent in English. Fluency in French is an asset but not required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be available for occasional travel.
- Eligible to obtain a police background/criminal record check.
