Partnership Coordinator
1.0 FTE 29-month contract with the possibility of extension $37.91 per hour for 35 hours a week
Reporting to: Executive Director Position Summary: The Child and Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) of Waterloo Region is a collaborative initiative involving the Waterloo Regional Police Service, Family & Children’s Services of the Waterloo Region, the Crown Attorney’s Office, Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Treatment Centre and Lutherwood. This collaboration has been running since May of 2016. This unique multi-disciplinary centre offers a child friendly approach to services for children and youth who are victims and witnesses of abuse and crime, beginning when they first tell their story. Although our efforts have always focused on children first, we recognize that children/youth do not function in isolation and are part of an intricate family system including adults in caregiving positions. Sometimes these adults are the direct victim of abuse and need support just as much or more than their children do.
The Partnership Coordinator will work to improve the services already available at the CYAC and explore new community partners to grow the supports we offer to adult victims of crime who are also in a caregiving role to a young person in our community. The Partnership Coordinator will supervise the System Navigator(s) within the Child Witness Centre, provide coordinated response to children/youth and families in the CYAC, work with the Joint Management Team (JMT) of the CYAC and explore other community connections and avenues for programming specific to adult victims of crime who are parents or caregivers.
