The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Safety & Wellness, the Emergency Program Manager provides expertise, strategic leadership and direction to and on behalf of the Liquor Distribution Branch for implementing emergency preparedness initiatives and programs. Develop and recommend policies that support the LDB in emergency preparedness, response and mitigation. The manager will represent the LDB within Emergency Management (EM) BC, BC Office of the Fire Commission (Fire Marshall), and other external business partners such as BC Hydro, BC Lottery Corporation, ICBC and Retail Council of Canada specific to emergency management programs. The manager will participate on external advisory committees that examine and make recommendations for emergency response readiness and other opportunities associated with mitigation. Key to this position’s role will be the continued development and implementation of an emergency readiness and response plan.

This position will manage all planning, developing, monitoring, training, and implementation of the Branch’s Emergency Programs in cooperation and collaboration with internal stakeholders and other federal, provincial and municipal government agencies. The position will provide management, technical and analytical services in support of the continued adaptation of the Branch’s Emergency Program plans. The position will generate reports on Branch readiness and make recommendations to ensure mitigation and reduction in the potential for loss of life and assets.

Valid British Columbia Driver’s License.

Ability to travel overnight within the Province of British Columbia. Willing to work flexible hours such as evenings and weekends to meet committees and program needs.

**Position Requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:
A minimum of 1 year of recent, related experience* managing and directing emergency management programs within a multi-location organization.

Recent experience in project management relevant to Emergency Management Programs.

**Preferred qualifications include**:
Course completion or certification in Emergency Management or Emergency Exercise Design or related field.

Experience delivering emergency related training programs.
- Recent, related experience is defined as occurring in the last 5 years.
