The first of its kind in Canada, FNHA works as a health-and-wellness partner with BC First Nations to support self-determination and decision-making to improve health outcomes.

Since 2018, the FNHA has funded over 80 First Nations communities and Health Service Organizations with Health Planning Management funding to support the development of Community Health and Wellness Plans.

**Title**: Community Development Student
**Salary**: $19.38 - $22.44 - $24.68 per year (pay range explained below)
**Contract**: 4 Month Term
**Hours**: 37.5 Hours, Monday - Friday (core hours 9am - 3pm)
**Location**: Sinclair Office, Downtown

**About the role**
The Community Development Co-Op Student will support with the various tasks and projects associated with supporting communities to undertake health and wellness planning, including supporting the development of the Community Health and Wellness reporting toolkit for BC First Nations. You will also:

- Review and rollup of Community Health and Wellness Plans in collaboration with Policy Planning & Evaluation
- Support for webinars/workshops/sharing circles targeting planning communities and FNHA Staff
- Support the development of tools and resources

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have/be
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution
- Experience working in First Nation or Indigenous communities and organizations to carry out projects and initiatives
- Understanding of BC First Nations health and wellness context
- Familiarity with wise practices in planning, reporting and evaluation
- Document analysis
- Community development, mentorship
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.

As a health and wellness organization, the FNHA has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.
