**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 2-year College Diploma in Business/Accounting or related field
- Minimum 3 years of recent practical experience in an accounting related field
- Thorough knowledge of and experience with accounts receivable accounting practices, refund processing and account reconciliations
- Advanced experience working with Banner Finance accounts receivable, general ledger, spreadsheets and word processing
- Knowledgeable of the College’s domestic and international student refund policy and requirements
- Excellent customer services, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated team player with the ability to work independently and under pressure of multiple tasks and deadlines
- In-person, on-site position; must be able to reliably commute and/or relocate to North Bay, ON

**DUTIES**:

- Inspect student’s accounts for accuracy before processing refunds
- Prepare student refunds by calculating and keying all withdrawal fees to accounts and ensuring documentation is in place for payment processing
- Key student refunds and assign internal document numbers for timely biweekly cheque/EFT runs
- Communicate with students to ensure a smooth refund process
- Monitor all payables systems for outstanding or pending refunds including Banner A/P, Flywire and Western Union
- Ensure all financial related documents are appropriately filed and recorded
- Collect all EFT information from students when required
- Initiate a trace for any refunds not received by students
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts associated with student refunds
- Assist in making corrections to student’s accounts when issues are found during the reconciliation process
- Process all relevant incoming student tuition payments made via bank transfer, OSAP loan, Flywire, Western Union, etc. and issue receipts when needed
- Investigate incoming payments with no student references to ensure they are applied to correct accounts or returned to source if left unmatched (e.g. initiate bank debit with TD)
- Review corporate accounts receivable including, but not limited to, review of aged A/R, sending statements and follow up on unpaid accounts
- Act as the backup to corporate A/R/Head Cashier for tasks such as corporate invoicing, posting incoming bank payments to GL, receipting payments for corporate A/R accounts via phone or in-person, closing and finalizing cashier sessions and running feeds, bank deposit preparation, etc.
- Process the payout of student bursaries, emergency loans and return payments to National Student Loan Centre when initiated by Financial Aid
- Process other student payments initiated via Argos platform
- Other duties as assigned
