We are looking for an experienced, mature, highly motivated, and hard-working optometric assistant to join the team.

**Who You Are**:
You are a friendly, team-oriented, and meticulous problem solver. You have experience in an optometry/optical setting, and you enjoy meeting new people and building long-lasting relationships with each patient. You are confident in your administration and customer service abilities, but you also want to learn and grow further.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Greet and assist patients at the front desk, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Manage the scheduling of medical and optical appointments and handle walk-ins as necessary.
- Assist with patient care, including preliminary eye tests and optical fittings.
- Manage patient appointments and maintain electronic medical records accurately.
- Assist patients with frame, lens & sunglass selection, and offer the best advice based on customer requests and lifestyle as required. Assist in the development of new processes/services to maintain high level of customer service.
- General administrative duties to help support Optometrist, Ophthalmologist, and Optician as required, such as billing, patient recalls, patient processing, frame and lens ordering, responding to calls and inquiries
- Track patient referrals to specialists (e.g. faxing reports, following up with patients to inform them of their appointment date/time, etc.)
- Complete paperwork and file information related to customer/client/patient records, eye prescriptions, eyeglass orders, invoices, returns, payments
- Assist with frame inventory management.
- Ensure cleanliness of store and displays; clean and disinfect surfaces as required.

**Job Requirements**:

- 2+ years of experience in an administrative, optical, or medical environment is highly preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a retail/sales environment providing exceptional customer service
- Completion of a university degree/college diploma in a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills is a must; Must be fluent in English
- Strong multi-tasking, time management, and organizational skills
- Experience scheduling, reporting, ordering, inventory management, and other administrative duties
- Ability to stay calm when presented with challenging customers
- Highly detail-oriented and able to learn and use new technologies; Proficient in MS Office products; Typing skill at 50-60 WPM
- Interest in eyewear trends and a good eye for fashion
- Experience in insurance billing is considered an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
